| Maptician Summary: |
| Maptician for School Districts is designed with the needs of School Planners
in mind. The software provides a variety of functions including address matching which
allows geo-location of each student to a point file, routing analysis for review and
development of Bus Routes, Cohort Survival Routines for development of Student population
projections and extensive automated and manual redistricting tools for development of
Schools Boundaries. There are no add-on modules or extensions required. All
software and data required to use the system is included. Citygate provides Maptician as
an end user product or in conjunction with Citygate's School Support Services. ESRI
Compatible:
Unlike other School planning software developed on top of complex GIS applications,
Maptician is a standalone application and does not require the installation and learning
of additional GIS software such as ArcView or Arc/Info. The software is compatible with
ESRI's Coverage and Shape File format. ESRI compatiblity provideds the ability to
share and make use of data from hundreds of local and national data sources without the
need for translation or import.
No Annual Fees:
Maptician is sold as an off-the-shelf application. There are no mandatory
annual fees for use of the software. Users can choose to pay an annual technical
support/maintenance fee or alternatively elect to purchase future upgrades if desired.
Unlimited Email support is always included at no additional costs.

| Bus Stop Management and Routing: |
BUS
Routing tools enable the development of BUS routes and schedules for up to 6 daily Bus
Shifts. The software automatically generates addresses for the bus stops. The
user can override the software-generated address and manually enter a house location.
There are no limitations on the number of bus runs or the number of alternative schedules
which can be developed at any time. |
| Driver Directions: |
| Once
the BUS stops have been developed, Maptician can provide driver directions with or without
maps. MapQuest turn-by-turn style output with individual turn maps is also
available. Output formats include, text, Microsoft Word and HTML. |
| Bus Scheduling: |
| The
Bus Scheduling tool allows the user to optimize bus runs and reduce the number of required
buses. A graphical wizard allows the user to select bus runs as time blocks and
adjust the sequence to optimize the use of all buses. |
| Bus Tracking: |
| Maptician
also comes with a unique Emergency Management Feature called Live Map.
At any given time, the software can provide the location of all buses
in the system as well as totals for students on each bus and at each school. In the
event of a breakdown, the dispatcher can quickly identify the closest bus to the location
of the disabled bus and make arrangement for pickup of the affected students. Live
Map does NOT require the implementation of any additional hardware such as GPS or Tracking
hardware. However, it can integrate with such devices. |
| Attendance Area Redistricting: |
| The
software includes both manual and automated redistricting functions. The automated
redistricting function uses an intelligence model to create attendance areas which meet
the student population targets set by the user. Manual redistricting tools allow
manipulation existing and computer generated districts. An Excel Compatible Spreadsheet
allows the user to dynamically display summary totals for any school district population
category. |
| Student Population Projection: |
| Maptician includes a complete student population projection module, base
on a modified cohort survival system. The software allows the user to compute a
district wide or school based cohort survival ratio. The user can then apply the
rate to individual blocks, in order to identify future attendance area totals. The
projected numbers can also be used during the attendance area redistricting. |
| System Requirements: |
| Maptician for School Districts can operate on all Microsoft Windows
Platforms with a minimum of 700Mhz CUP and 128 Mb of RAM. |
