EMAPS mobile provides the user all the capabilities of EMAPS with greater versatility. This versatility is especially beneficial in an emergency, allowing the user to make neccessary changes to a preplanned scenario without being limited to a single location. EMAPS provides the following capabilities:

• Allows the user to manually zoom in or enter an address/road intersection/Place Name and have the software quickly map the area with a scale dependent display.
• Interface the software with a field GPS system to provide accurate positions for field units.
• Provides the user with a report on the location of major facilities such as schools, hospitals, shopping centers, parks and government buildings.
• Create Emergency Evacuation Routes and provide personnel and signage requirements for implementation
• Hot link locations such as storage facilities and government buildings with Images of Floor Plans, photographs, documents containing list of chemicals, web sites etc.
• Built-in Plume Modeling using the EPA's ALOHA Model.
• Allows the user to enter a perimeter distance around a single event or multiple events.
• Computes the minimum number of road closures which would "seal off" the area.
• Ranks road closures in order of importance so as respondents arrive, most critical closures can be addressed first.
• Automatically adjusts existing evacuation routes to detour around incident locations.
• Provides detour turn locations for evacuation routes.
• Provides reports on affected population, including total population, under 18, Senior Citizens, housing units, group homes, retirement homes, college dorms, etc.
• Provides transportation impact report, listing all road sections affected by an incident.
• Automatically posts maps and reports onto internal web sites or the world wide web.
