E-MAPS is designed allow for communication of emergency event and response information during times when traditional communication lines may not be available.  Specifically the system is designed to communication using:

  • Intermittently connected networks.   In situations when continuos communication is not available, E-MAPS will use intermittently available networks such as dialup satellite phones to transmit its information.  Information is compressed and encrypted to allow for quick transmission over public networks. (More Detail)
  • E-MAIL.  When direct communication is not available, E-MAPS can convert its event and response information into formats compatible with standard email protocols. (More Detail)
  • Floppy - USB Flash Support.  At times, during a large scale emergency, no network connectivity of any kind may be available.  As such, E-MAPS supports reading and writing of Event and response plans to devices such as floppy and USB flash drives.  The information is encrypted and compressed automatically prior to placement on the device.
