
E-MAPS is designed allow for communication
of emergency event and response information during times when traditional communication
lines may not be available. Specifically the system is designed to communication
using:
- Intermittently connected networks.
In situations when continuos communication is not available, E-MAPS will
use intermittently available networks such as dialup satellite phones to transmit its
information. Information is compressed and encrypted to allow for quick transmission

- E-MAIL. When direct
communication is not available, E-MAPS can convert its event and response information into
formats compatible with standard email protocols. (More

- Floppy - USB Flash Support. At
times, during a large scale emergency, no network connectivity of any kind may be
available. As such, E-MAPS supports reading and writing of Event and response plans
to devices such as floppy and USB flash drives. The information is encrypted and
compressed automatically prior to placement on the device.
